Determining the window treatment most appropriate for your practical and aesthetic needs
Suggesting a style of drapery and decorative hardware
Suggesting a model of shutters, blinds, sliding panels, or specialty blinds

You will receive:

A virtual sample board in pdf format that will feature my suggestions for the window treatment that will work best in your room. I will even sketch the suggested model right onto your photo so you can better imagine the results! I will suggest colours and patterns to look for when choosing fabric, and, where possible, I will provide product specifications to facilitate your shopping. You will also receive an audio file containing more in-depth instructions on how to carry out the proposal.

In which direction does the room face? How much sunlight enters the room, and at what time of day?

What activities take place in the room? Does sunlight glare need to be kept off the tv screen?

Can neighbours see in through this window? Should this window treatment provide you with privacy during the day? What about at night when the interior lights are on?

Does the window offer a beautiful view that you wish to leave unobstructed?

Does someone sleep in the room? Does that person need total darkness (blackout) or just moderate darkness (as provided by horizontal blinds, for example) in order to sleep well?

Is there a heat source such as an electric baseboard heater or an air duct under this window? If yes, what kind?

How does the window open?

What is the depth of the window, from the front edge of the frame to the glass? This lets us know if an inside mount is possible for a shade or blind.

Budget

Window treatments are a large part of any decorating budget, and the cost of custom curtains or blinds is considerable. If you have allotted a specific budget for window treatments, please let me know in the box below so that we can better serve your needs. Be honest about your budget: if you are in the market for custom-made products (think four digits) I will provide you with a unique, custom design that will add elegance and excitement to your decor. If you are looking for maximum impact at minimum cost, I will draw from my long list of beautiful, pre-made products and find the one that fits both your style and your budget. No matter what your needs, I will help you to find a solution.
